The state of Georgia has issued a Lifetime Achievement Award to Atlanta rapper T.I., and he’s extremely grateful.
T.I. was recently honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the state of Georgia.
When the “Rubberband Man” rapper shared the news via Instagram, he thanked public officials:
“Thank God for Debra Jones-Bazemore, Lenora Wimberly-Peterson, Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and everyone else who had a hand in making this possible. I’m genuinely grateful for these prestigious honors and while I don’t know exactly what that means specifically, it sure feels good to have them.”
In a recent video, T.I. is seen accepting the award as he shares his heartfelt thoughts:
“I did good work to make you guys proud, to earn this, outstanding citizenship.”
Fans gave the rapper overwhelming praise for his award.
One fan said:
“Milestone, This is why they call you the king.”
Another fan commented:
“Simply means black excellence it’s a full circle.”
It’s inspiring to see rappers getting recognized outside of hip-hop culture by local public officials.
A few months ago, it looked like T.I. may have had to pay up $1 million and eat his words after a video circulated on social media in which he appears to call comedian Lauren Knight a “bitch”.
This comes after the rapper and Lauren got into a verbal beef after she made a joke about sexual allegations against him and his wife recently at a local open mic comedy event.
